233 is fence corner post by wall at E3 almost directly above entance to phreatic tube in E3 233 234 E3 is 8m deep from forect floor to stream and has a Pot entrance and rift entrance. couldn't face E3b to E3 undergraound so did it on the surface - much more accurate- sun shining etc AT E3 there is an upstream AND dowstream canyon passage both of which can be followed. The downstream passage is more or less 2m above the "normal" route and dry fossil 1,6m h by .4 w gets tight but pushable. the upstream canyon starts at 3.5m high and is the source of the stream. Its tight but Colin followed it for about 60m back towards the "big tree in the field" - eg due north. We'll survey it one day soon We reckon you are right about E2 just beyond the tree. we measured it at 190m from E3 instead of 290 as on the survey. Colin entered it and the boulder collapse is very unstable and the way on blocked. Diggable with a bit of shoring in the roof. There is a quite sizeable stream comes down alongside the forest and follows the new forest road which runs out to the track about half way between the E2 and E3 holes. It sinks in a large boggy area and is almost certainly ( well might be anyway) the source of the stream in Colins passage. If this upstream is previously unrecorded ( except by me last week ) I'd like the chance to name it - let me know. we have sketches and sections etc for passage below E3b and details of E3b such as TWO side passages NOT on previous survey and some sketches of E3 and location of surface features such as fence posts and relation to E2.
