BOOK 59-iv E 11 July 1959. Survey party DGM WJB PML The aim of the work was to investigate + survey the side passages recorded by the surveyers of Upper Pollelva last year. This description is based on the survey station numbers used by them. However it is not possible to be certain of the exact location of the passages investigated with respect to the survey station numbers. [SOMETHING] had all been obliterated in the intervening year. Page 1 & 2 Only station number + description? 8 "Trib. R" - impassable 14 "Roof passage left". This leads up past fallen boulders to another entrance to the cave 20 "trib. R" This was surveyed and the figures given in "Survey 1". It almost certainly leads to the surface. 21 Passages in roof at this point not yet investigated. 36 the section corresponding with this station probably corresponds to the following observation: About 300' from the entrance the cave is about 6@ high and the roof in a wide bedding plane. It is possible to crawl about 10' to the left of the main streamway to where one meets a smaller streamway 2' high and 2' wide. This can be followed to the right but is impassible to the left. This (the right) leads back down the main streamway about 100'before where it was left. [PI CTURE] 67 Trib. L see survey 2 for details 75 "Piamissai waterfall" [UNREADABLE]. This tributary passage was followed for about 160 feet in a direction of about 340 degrees (looking upstream in trib. Passage) i.e. 160 degrees looking downstream 84 Crack in roof investigated. Leads to very low passage in roof - looks like abandoned streamway. Impassable.
